The Dennis Frayne Ascent

Fee Schedule

Each submission to The Dennis Frayne Ascent represents a meaningful demonstration of musical growth. Submission fees help support the review process, preparation of certificates and recognition awards, administrative services, and the continued development of the program.

As students advance through the Ascent, demonstrations become increasingly comprehensive and require additional review time. For this reason, submission fees gradually increase at each major tier. We strive to keep the program accessible while ensuring that every submission receives the careful attention it deserves.

If a submission is incomplete or does not yet meet the published requirements, it will be returned for revision with an explanation of the items that must be completed or corrected before it can be reviewed again. A reduced resubmission fee helps cover the additional review process.

Trailhead (Tier 1, Levels 1-7), $60 submission; $30 resubmission

Slopes (Tier 2, Levels 8-14), $80 submission; $40 resubmission

Forest (Tier 3, Levels 15–21), $100 submission; $50 resubmission

Ridge (Tier 4, Levels 22–28), $120 submission; $60 resubmission

Highlands (Tier 5, Levels 29–35), $160 submission; $80 resubmission

Alpine (Levels 36–42), $200 submission; $100 resubmission

Crest (Levels 43–49), $250 submission; $125 resubmission

Summit (Level 50), $500 submission; $250 resubmission

What Does the Submission Fee Include?

Each submission fee includes:

  • Professional review of the submitted Demonstration of Learning

  • Evaluation against the published requirements for the level

  • Official recognition of successful completion

  • Printed certificate

  • Applicable recognition award

  • Permanent recording of the achievement in the student's Ascent record

  • Ongoing administration and development of The Dennis Frayne Ascent and its archives

Every level represents meaningful learning, and every recognition is earned through demonstrated musicianship. We encourage students to take the time they need, enjoy the journey, and view each submission as another milestone in a lifelong relationship with music.
