The Presto! It’s Music Magic Curriculum

The Presto! It’s Music Magic curriculum, authored by Dr. Dennis Frayne, is provided as part of eligible Teacher Membership in The Dennis Frayne Association for Music Education.

This is an intentional part of the Dennis Frayne Approach. The curriculum was designed to work hand in hand with the educational philosophy, teaching strategies, certification program, and ongoing professional support that surround it. The books themselves are only one part of a much larger educational framework.

Teacher Members learn not only what to teach, but also why concepts are introduced in a particular sequence, how to present them through healthy, student-centered instruction, and how each lesson contributes to the development of comprehensive musicianship. The curriculum, certification, mentorship, and continuing education are designed to function as one integrated system, each strengthening and supporting the others.

For this reason, the complete Presto! It’s Music Magic curriculum is provided as part of the professional preparation and continuing development offered through Teacher Membership. The goal is not simply to place instructional materials into teachers' hands, but to equip educators with the understanding, confidence, and support needed to teach the curriculum as it was intended. This helps ensure that students experience the Dennis Frayne Approach in a way that is thoughtful, connected, healthy, and consistent with its educational philosophy.

Many other resources — including sheet music, supplementary books, teaching aids, games, videos, and classroom materials — are available separately through Presto! It's Music Magic Publishing. The complete Presto! It’s Music Magic curriculum, however, is provided as one component of becoming and continuing to grow as a Dennis Frayne Approach teacher.

Rather than viewing the curriculum as a collection of books, we view it as part of a lifelong journey of professional learning. As teachers continue to deepen their musicianship, refine their teaching, and participate in the Association, the curriculum becomes an increasingly effective tool for helping students build lifelong relationships with music.
