What You May Do

We encourage educators and members of the music education community to:

Share links to our website and articles
Recommend our books, publications, and programs

Quote brief excerpts from our publications with appropriate attribution, consistent with applicable copyright law

Permission Required

Please obtain written permission before:

Educational Use

We believe that music education grows stronger when educators share ideas, encourage one another, and continue learning together. For that reason, we welcome thoughtful discussion of The Dennis Frayne Approach to Music Education and encourage educators to reference our work in teaching, presentations, and professional development.

Public Domain Music

Some publications or resources may include music that is in the public domain. Although the underlying musical composition may no longer be protected by copyright, the Association's original arrangements, engravings, editing, fingering, educational notes, layouts, compilations, and other creative contributions may remain protected by copyright. Please do not assume that an entire publication may be copied simply because it contains public-domain music.

Artificial Intelligence

Association publications, member resources, certification materials, curriculum, assessments, videos, and other proprietary content may not be uploaded into artificial intelligence systems for redistribution, commercial use, publication, model training, or the creation of derivative products without prior written permission from the Association. Reasonable personal use of AI tools for individual study, accessibility, or private learning may be appropriate where permitted by applicable law, provided that Association materials are not redistributed, republished, or used to create competing products or services.
