The Ascent Tier 8, Level 50, The Final Level
Summit - The Final Level (Ascent Level 50)
Dedicated to Sergei Rachmaninoff
Repertoire: All Rachmaninoff, including: one Piano Concerto, plus any additional Rachmaninoff selections, any instrument.
Instruments: Piano, voice, and 2nd, 3rd, and 4th instruments (required).
Technical Skill: Play 20 minutes of technical skill exercises on the piano, 20 minutes of technical skill exercises on 2nd instrument, 20 minutes of technical skill exercises on 3rd instrument, and 20 minutes of technical skill exercises on 4th instrument.
Musicianship: Sing the scalar vocalises, on moveable-Do solfege, and again on scale degree numbers.
Project: 1) Compose a concerto for solo instrument and orchestra, rehearse and perform as conductor. 2) Compose an original musical score for an animated short or film clip. Utilizing professional audio workstations, record, edit, dub, and produce the final soundtrack synchronized to the video. Showcase the completed project as part of your live recital.
Performance: 1) Recital 110-120 minutes, including minimum 10 minutes singing in primary and two secondary languages. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th instruments required. Must be public recital with a live audience, recorded. Please provide program and hospitality. Intermission required. 2) Conduct a community orchestra at an outdoor event, as a guest conductor, where the music is performed to a live projected film. 3) Produce, rehearse, and direct a major musical performance (concert, musical, opera) with minimum one tech rehearsal, one dress rehearsal, and three public performances in front of live audiences.
